Director of Career & Technical Education Vacancy
The Northern Tier Career Center in Towanda, PA is in search of a visionary Director of Career & Technical Education. This is a full-time, 245 day position beginning October 1, 2015 or as soon thereafter as mutually agreed upon with the Joint Operating Committee/Board. The Northern Tier Career Center provides quality Career & Technical education to the youth in eight school districts and participating adults of Bradford and Sullivan Counties and the Northern Tier by providing a curriculum, facility, and faculty that is responsible to the needs of business, the employment areas, and the students enrolled. The Northern Tier Career Center offers continuing education for adult students including CDL Class A truck driving training and Continuing Education classes through Penn State University.
Qualifications: Interested candidates must possess Vocational Administrative Director Certification or a PA Principal certification with the willingness to obtain the Vocational/Career & Technical Education Director Certification during the first year of employment, a Master’s Degree or higher, and a minimum of five years of successful employment in an education setting. Applicants should have background knowledge in curriculum, instruction, and assessment, should be able to demonstrate leadership skills, effective student and parent communications, problem-solving skills, grant writing, and technology use proficiency. The Career & Technical Center Director must be able to effectively manage all aspects of the school organization. He or she must be adept at working with sending school districts, business and industry partners, and other community based organizations. Skill sets must include a proven track record of successful planning and completion of financial, operational, and educational goals and agendas, positive communication and interpersonal strengths, and a solid base of knowledge and experience with legal procedures, labor relations, and assessment of employee performance.

The salary for this position is regionally competitive and will be between $75,000 and $95,000 (pro-rated for the first year) based upon qualifications and experience.
